In relating to sharing power as in chapter 6, in my undergraduate teaching students were attending classes 5 days a week. They requested to reduce their classes by attending only 4 days a week. The administration agreed with their request by adding 45 more minutes in their current lecture. This shows that instructors are sharing power with their students. It is also one way of effective communication between them and their instructors (Doyle, 2011, page 78).
Issues like attendance, I have seen in my BB collaborative class. This is exactly what Doyle explained in chapter 6.We have an option that if a student can’t attend the live session he/she has the option of listening to the recorded session and post a summary. The same applies when by any means a student cannot meet the assignment deadline, the instructor can extend the deadline. (Doyle, 2011, page 81).
