Chapter 3 : The Power of authentic Learning.
This chapter is a continuation of what was described in the
previous chapter. Students should learn by themselves. If anything was not clear to them, they should approach the instructor or talk with colleagues on how to do it. Doyle use a phrase as two heads are better than one. The more information a student gets, the more he/she understands best.
Students should be able to use Authentic Learning. Not a new
concept as it may sound. They should be able to take more responsibilities in their own work. This is because; they will be responsible for their own work for the rest of their lives.
To be able to achieve this, instructors can use Authentic Assessment Techniques to assess the students. Some examples are: performance assessment, portfolios and self assessment.
